Kettleton Clear Water Tank
Progress picture from July 2026
What We Are Doing
The project includes installing a clear water tank, building a valve chamber, and making changes to the ground around it. It also involves creating an earth embankment, constructing an internal road, and putting up a boundary fence that is 2.6 meters high.
ESD worked with Scottish Water and the Local Highways Authority to carry out a Route Access Assessment. They found that there is only one possible route to reach the site. Therefore, there will be a mandatory speed limit for construction traffic and appropriate signage installed. We will also be implementing a restriction on waiting for the section at the bottom of Burnbrae.
We will make sure every precaution is in place to minimise disruption in the area.
Latest Update - July 2026
Ground work has all been compelted, allowing us to commence construction of the new clear water tank.
Concrete, rebar, shutters and a concrete pump as required will be delivered to site, and is expected to last approximately until summer this year.
The roof of the tank is scheduled to be poured in the summer months too.
